KPI aggregates over many independent buyers move as drift plus noise; code, config, and platform-policy changes switch atomically. Absent a known discrete market event, a step discontinuity implicates a system change dated to the step.
Scope
Volumes where a step is distinguishable from noise; check enumerable discrete market events (launches, stockouts, price changes, PR) before invoking the law.
What this licenses you to do
On any step: diff deploy timestamps, tag/config edits, feature flags, and platform policy dates against the step date; check whether the step aligns to a data boundary (midnight, week start) versus mid-stream.
